Hello
My interest in this hobby started 3 years ago, I was given a diplomatic dagger of my grandpa. The dagger turned out to be a replica but my interest grew from researching these daggers, finding personalized daggers and identifying owners by serial numbers.
Two years ago on my 17th birthday I was given a swedish cavalry sword which opened my eyes to swords and sabers. But I was still fascinated by the german daggers and the amount of detail put into every little peice of these daggers. This year I was given a Land customs dagger, which also turned out to be a fake unfortuantely
Not to long ago I payed my grandpa a visit to help identify some daggers in his collection. It turns out he had a few more replicas but most of them looked original to me. After this visit I started borrowing books from the local library: "German Daggers of World War II - a Photographic Reference by Thomas M. Johnson"
And that ladies and gentlemen is the story of how I got interested in this hobby. All this has led to me saving up for my first dagger!
But down to business I need you help to find good dealers with fair prices. Im sure there are a few roaming this forum aswell
Also feel free to share your story on how you got into this hobby. I also havent decided on what dagger im aiming to purchase so leave a suggestion!
Regards Johan
