HJ dagger

Hi,

I have been spectating on this forum for awhile but first time posting.

I picked up this HJ dagger a couple days ago, along with a couple other items, and just wanted to make sure everything seems genuine on it. I apologize for the potentially poor quality pictures. It is night and I was not able to get any naturally lite photos. It appears to me that on the back right side of the dagger perhaps might have been overly sharpened or cleaned at one point in time because the makers mark appears to be worn down. Only M7/"X" 40 is visable although it appears, although not noticeable in the photo, that there is a 8 after the / but I am not sure.
