    Opinions on Fire/Police Bayonet

    Hi all

I picked this set up today at a flea market. It is a puma bayo, scabbard, frog, and belt. The owner says he has the buckle, but could not find it. He will look and call me if he can locate it. How does it look? Original? The belt is marked Hans Grunwald Magedeburg Kanstr.7. Does this look like an original set or a put together? Early war? Any information would be appreciated.

        Hello

The set is correct and nice. The frog is for a dress bayonet and the belt is also for a dress uniform. As said above it is not a fire bayonet but a standard dress bayonet.

        Regards
        Alain

I agree with the foregoing, this KS98 bayonet is not a Feuerwehr bayonet but rather a standard Wehrmacht/Luftwaffe item. It is in very nice condition & looks completely period. Although there is a dispute over when the Puma diamond mark was utilized, I believe it was in the latter half of the 3R.

What I like about it is the distributor marked belt. Grunwald was a known distributor who's mark is seldom seen on anything. It's a shame the blade isn't also marked with his stamp.

I suppose it was only a matter of time

would the proper army dress buckle look like this? Were these originally made without a leather tab? or did they all come with a leather tab?

Yes, this would be an NCO dress belt buckle.
Most of them was made without leather tab.
