    Undocumented ss sword knot?

Hello sirs i have been seeing these black and silver sword knots being sold as "undocumented" or "unattributed" ss sword knots by reputable dealers, but i have never seen one on an ss sword- or in period pics. What's the deal with these? Thank you for your opinions!!!

This type of knot is SS NCO knot NCO SS degan.
But much people from the collector community, considered these SS NCO dagen knot post-war reproduction.

I don't believe there is any period documentation of these knots & I am always skeptical of someone attributing something (particularly to the SS) without good reason. As a collector, you're left to draw your own conclusion.

I'm with Billy. IMO, This type is postwar.

It is said, that these knots (there are several different models) were found at the end of the war, unissued and anattributed. The assumption is, that they were intended for RRPP or SSNCOs or, or.
I cannot tell for sure if they are pre may 45 or postwar. They are very well made but the material is slightly different from what we are used to feel on pre may 45 portepees.
All I know for sure is that I once got one in a real hoard of other ALL PERIOD items like TN NCO and TN man troddels, SSportepees, other Portepees, Allg.SS collar tabs and shoulder boards and other uniform accessories. Was said at this time that the items came from an abandoned supply and dressmakerĀ“s shop. About thirty or thirtyfive years ago...
              Greetings, daggers.

I wouldn't be so quick to judge these as post war,IMO. Go to page 610-611 of Wittmann's SS dagger book an see he shows this note in a period photo and explains it came in both a silver or black cap style. the one shown here is a black cap style. i also obtained a police nco degan with this exact style knot on it direct from the vetran who brought it back...Jeff
