    Founded SS dagger

Hi everyone, I just subscribe to this forum because I found in my grandpa's basement an SS dagger and I would like to know more about it. Does anyone can give me some information about it?

    best.

Looks like a nice 1938 transitional Eickhorn SS dagger with an early hanger. But you need better pictures without the white background so we can see it better.

No "Original" in the Eickhorn maker mark. Some will dispute the originality of this piece... Also, are you the one who buffed the fixtures? Certainly this is not in "as found" condition from your grandpa's basement...

Its in the scabbard backwards and the hanger is on backwards. And, yes, this marking was from the Third Reich period.

Have a look at Wittmann militaria or Lakeside Trader, that will give you an idea of value.

Nice original dagger. I have one just like it. Is there any stamping on the tang since I see you have it disassembled?

It is C A H, it stands for Carl August Hartkopf,a sub contracting drop forging smithy, that provided Eickhorn with many forged blades.
