My thoughts are this carving is initials. But does anyone know if this could be a unit symbol or ID?

I also like the dark patina on the silver Luft sword.
BTW, those firearms aren't edged weapons Hopefully I'll see those on another forum

Andy, yes the P38 is my favorite. An earlier "0" series.
