Yard sale find a few years ago. I doubt if it is German. One of the photos to come shows the only mark on this knife or the skinner. An AK (may be something else) is found under a crossguard. Not a mark on the scabbard either. The blade tang is about 1/4 inch wide and shows damage such as maybe caused by using it as a hammer? This may suggest use by an official hammering up notices? This I think does explain the overall looseness to the assembly. Blade length is 12 inches overall is 17 inches. The skinner may not be original to the package as is seems small to its place in the scabbard. Its blade length is 4 inches and overall is about 7 1/4 inches. I do have this same posting in International but after a few days no response. I hope some one here can offer some input as to ID and perhaps country of origin. Thanks in advance! daniel tarr817j
