Hey Guys. I recently aquired this item and have some questions on it. The sword itself looks to me to be original but I would like your opinions before I put it on the Estand. The Portepee looks original except for the insert where it looks like someone glued an SS thing there (pictured). Is the sword good? It is made by Krebs. Like I said, I think the sword is good, but would like some more expert opinions on it before putting it on the estand. Also, what are your thoughts on the Portepee. Thanks.

This type portepee should be the SS NCO sword.
But a number of people from the collector community, believes this type portepee
i reproduction.
I personally avoid them.

Police sword
The sword pictured is a nice honest example of a Krebs police officer pattern sword. The knot, is one I don't care for, most say it is a postwar fabrication . I avoid them as an original police officers knot is still a common itm to locate and not much money. An ss officers knot would also be ok with this sword, however, the cost of one of those knots is on par with the values of some of the police pattern swords.Comment

Glad to know the sword is an honest example. I wasn't sure about the knot because of the glued in SS symbol on the bottom. Everything I saw online had the SS symbol sewn around the top portion of the portepee. For the price of the whole thing though, I couldn't say no to the knot either. Thanks for your help guys. Off to the Estand it goes!
