    heer sword id needed

    Picked up this army sword without maker mark. Several makers
    make similar swords. Can anyone id it.

      Robert Klaas Nr. 232 is indeed a very close match, but not 100% certain.

        I know you said it wasn't marked ....but.....

        Have you looked under the eagle at that part of the blade it covers and the other plain part on the other side to see if it has any marks there?

          second place I look at, after checking the reverse langet. Got quite a few of these swords, bought some as none maker only to find maker under the obverse langet. The few I have that are not maker marked can be identified through reference books etc. This one is harder as its all engraved not cast allowing for slight variations among the same model. I think this one more likely an Alcoso, as I can find an identical one on wittmanns site, with the only difference being the head points right on his one and left on mine.
