    Help With Scabbard / Opinions

Hello everyone. I know nothing about WW2 edged weapons / knives etc. Can I get some help with this scabbard please? I would like to know:

    A: What is it for?

B: Is it real / original

    C: Value?

    Thanks in advance, BDM

Looks like a second model Luftwaffe dagger scabbard. Have a look here to compare.

These scabbard is made for a second model of Luftwaffe dagger.
Its looks like late WKC production, but whole scabbard is very strange.
          Original?
(At the very least hand these scabbard is restored or cleaned.)

              Hello Ron,

I usually check out such features as the oaks and acorns among others to help me assess scabbards. If they lack sharp details I suspect reproduction. In this case they are quite sharp. I'm sure that with your experience you have several features you check. Can you tell me what it is you see, or perhaps do not see, that leads you to think repro in thus case?

              Thanks in advance.

              Regards,
              Stu

Hello everyone. I sent the photos to DD Harris at www.ddsdaggers.com and he gave it a thumbs up. He has more experience with German daggers and HJ knives than anyone I know. I trust his opinion 100%

                Thanks, BDM

                  Ron is correct IMO.
Don't like "pattern" of pebbling, scabbard bands and thin suspension rings.

Yep, well-known fake, repro - Weyersberg Solingen type.

                      Exactly!
Here is the same type from a Höller Berlin.
As mentioned above, thin suspension rings and a bit larger in diameter

I guess it's time to change your mind. Unless it's some miniature dagger scabbard (we don't know the size yet) it is a poor repro.

D D should stick to his specialty of HJ Knives. The bands are not correct, the throat is wrong the finish is wrong: its a mess.

Hello everyone, I would like to apologize to everyone. I took the scabbbard to a small militaria show near me today and had several people much more knowledgeable than me look at it. They compared it to some originals and it stuck out like a sore thumb. It is not even a decent repro. They showed me what to look for in the future and educated me a little.. Thanks to everyone for their opinions.
