advise and info required on SA dagger please

hi there ..quick question about an SA dagger i'm thinking of purchasing
the dagger is marked as herder and has a playing card spade symbol..the seller states this is a rare maker..so is this correct and if so is it on the mcsarr list?
its also stated the blade is near pristine and the scabbard retains 98% finish..
its priced at £650 so does this sound about correct?
thanks in advance for any replies

Sorry, Jeetley, but it's seldom a good idea to comment on a piece sight-unseen, and especially when advice on purchasing is involved. And it sounds like you haven't seen this piece yourself, either...

      +1.

Good pictures are a must and if possible find out the blade length. You don't want to find out you have bought a "near pristine" blade only to learn that it is that way as a result of buffing after a re-tipping job had been done.

My advice: request good photos of the dagger and post them here in the forum. Numerous experienced collectors are always willing to share their thoughts with you. The risk to waste your money is reduced to nearly zero by doing so
