Imperial Lion-head Naval sword candlesticks

Hello all,

I was told that the handles on these were ivory, but I don't know how to tell. These (which appear nearly identical in pattern) listed here:

have a celluloid handle and it does look slightly different to me. The Veteran wrote in his diary that these were gold plated as well but I don't believe that is the case as they just look brass to me. Any thoughts on this candlestick pair?

I think they have never been complete KM swords but they are made of genuine factory parts.
