Unfortunately, the lighting in the bank where I keep my collection is not the greatest and the motto has all the gold and the blade is near mint damascus.

          Hi Ron,
You always have some of the best items. That dagger is a real beauty! I look forward to having one someday.

This is what 55 years of up grading and work does, but it takes some luck of being in the right place at the right time.

Ron, is the eagle in this grip silver? it looks like a zincer or is it just the photo?

That is correct its a crummy Zn as is found on the later SA High Leaders, what a shame, but textbook and the grip isn't high quality either.

Excellent Dagger Ron... I just got a new home so I spent the cash on some nice new digs to keep the wife happy, and I like it as well. Expensive anything is out of the question (priorities!). However, I'm still investing in knowledge and that's not expensive.

I have been doing some research on the chains provided for the SS and SA daggers. Is there a list of RZM M5 codes for Uniform Accessories manufacturers that list who made which chains. There is a fake chain just listed on this site that has an M5/10 (Wilhelm Deus, Solingen). Did they ever make NSKK chains?

                        Regards,
                        Don_

Beautiful dagger Ron but why in the world would you keep such a beauty in a bank safe instead of your home ? I have much pleasure looking at my stuff being displayed in my house bunker. If for any reason you do not feel safe in Ohio, you can always come to the Great White North, zero guns, zero crimes but lot's of snow. We just had another 20 cm of fresh snow yesterday and temperature is a mild minus 25 celcius, let me tell you, there are no bugs out there.
Here's a picture of my wife taken last weekend, as you can see, lot's of white stuff out there.

We don't call I the Great White North for nothing.

Today is the first day of spring and we had about an inch of snow, now turned to ice and -13 Centigrade for the next two or three days.
