some help needed whit firemans bayonet

is this bayonett real or fake? i have searshed the internet and i have not found any etched firemans bayonet, and the handle can it be ivory? the etch is in poor conditon. and it have been sharpend
here are some links to pictures on the bayonet, and a picture from a book that i found the same etching. the book is Wayne H. Techets german etched dress bayonet. iam sorry for my bad inglish i hope you understand me

Hi,

The bayonet you show has a multitude of issues & I would not have it in my collection.

The blade was not originally on this hilt, it was added as an attempt to generate a higher price for a generally low priced collectible. The blade has been postwar etched (& very poorly I might add) IMHO. It was then rehilted to a fireman's bayonet. The grip plates have been replaced, presumably after the blade was rehilted. The maker's mark is an attempt to recreate a mark by Arthur Everetz but it is obviously postwar done. Too many obvious problems.

Etched fire bayonets that were period produced are quite rare & expensive. There are probably 15-20 fakes for every real one out there.

ok thank you very mutch for your awnser. that was what i were thinking that it maybe a postwar etch on a period bayonet, its always good to hear someone else opinion
