Hi Michael,

Try and get your friend to send some closer pix of both sides of the scabbard and hanger, as well. The black finish on the scabbard looks fairly new from the pix you've put up, and the scabbard fittings also look at least buffed up. But that may just be the photos themselves.

I saw lots of pictures of this dagger in great detail, it all looks good to me, scabbard paint even looks original, but yes the fittings have been cleaned.

Nice typic Klaas one.I have had such a one too.I guess there are the two cranes stamped in the tang!
