That Crimea is named to 'Magee' whereas the one sold at Debenhams in 1904 is named to'Mage'.

I'm a collector and researcher of the LB in the Crimea, in fact the quote on his site is from Roy Duttons ' Forgotten Heroes- The Charge of the Light Brigade' which incorporates my own Archive. I have several medals to Light Brigade Chargers and I wouldn't touch that one with a bargepole, the engraving is absolutely awful.

I really hope no one buys it

        More suss items

Here's the items I think are suss, this is in addition to the Govt official with a dodge cross guard (its not a Diplomatic dagger) and the SS officers eagle that's a joke, the WW1 tank badge that looks dreadful, and the now famous 'SS Honor Dagger' that was quickly pulled from the JB Militaria site, with Mr Blew it claiming the dagger 'sold'.

I am using photo bucket for the first time, so that non members can see these pics, hopefully this post works:

        1. Rudolf Souval Assault badge:

        http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps06d2cb94.jpg

        2. Imagine paying $1250 for this little silver 'SS' ring:

        http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps714e56a7.jpg

        3. There seems to be a never ending supply of Waffen SS spoon sets, discussed at length in other posts:

        4. Funny cheap looking bronze mine sweeper badge:

        5. Luft recon clasp that looks very cheap at the back of the medal:

        http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps8ac6ab4b.jpg

        6. SS cap that looks wrong, the peak of the cap, the material (looks like fluffy velvet) and the SS skull with the teeth look odd:

        7. the Panzer assault badge that looks very cheap:

        8. The SS helmet with bent decal, cheap at $3995:

        9. Funny looking PO badge:

        http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/a...psf0e10c8d.jpg

There are others but I post these for now. I have examined books, the fakes gallery on WAF, and I have read many many posts and based on this I find these items above suss, opinions welcomed

I would like to reply to this forum as to do with JB Militaria Antiques, I have been a customer of his since he opens his shop. Preceding to that we had to deal with the local so called dealers within Perth, who operated from the security of their homes. They would never have the nerve to sell their so called “ORIGINAL THIRD REICH ITEMS” over the internet as even to me they are clearly fake items.

I realise that Jamey may make some mistakes, but he is not perfect (and who is). I have and I’m sure most collectors have been ripped off during their collecting time. My opinion is doing your homework before you purchase an expensive or any item from any dealer (he not forcing you to buy them). If I’ve purchase any item from Jamey and was not happy with it he has always offered me my money back or exchange for another item.

I’m not going to enter into the debate about the Damascus SS Dagger or any SS item as I don’t have to require knowledge in the subject and to be honest would rather stay away from that minefield. The only reason that I wrote this is that people need to realise that there are two sides to this dealer.

I don't buy this at all - fake ss spoons for $1895!!! fake ss officers eagle for $775. Fake ww1 tank badge for $1250. Fake ss ring $1250, fake ss helmet $3995, dreadful totally fake ss honor dagger for $44k - worth maybe $300, that sold we r told. Where is he getting this crap from? I assume he's paying very little for it, as it's cheap fake stuff, and then he sells it for top dollar. Whoever buys those ss spoons for $1895, in 2 years time they to to sell them and find out the bad news , I really wonder if Mr Blew it will refund that. And the 'buyer' of that ss honor dagger - they r due for a nasty shock. To suggest Jamey B is some poor pawn who doesn't know what he is doing here beggars belief... Given the number of dodgy / fake items

Since I have had no reply from Desert Fox, I may just ask you Kersten, are you the chap who sent the abusive emails to this dealer?

If so, I have today read what you have written and I can honestly tell you, if you say you are averse with the law, I think you might well want to seek some legal advice, because making the defamatory claims you have made in a series of emails to this dealer is really not a smart move. I am not even sure how you can justify the names you call this person. However, I think you might either want to tone down your language or hire a decent lawyer.

May I say, I am no lawyer, I am a humble engineer, but I am sure if I was in the legal profession, I would be rubbing my hands together in anticipation.

Can I ask you...Might it have been easier if this was settled as first proposed? Over the phone? but ultimately, that may well end up a matter between you and the dealer elsewhere.

I guess I need to re-iterate here, where does this discussion end? You say you have the moral high ground, but how can you claim this based on what I have read? To poke fun in jest or to make some over the top comments is one thing, but to go to the extreme length you seem to have gone is rather another story.

Now, has anyone on this forum contacted the dealer directly yet? Might be worth trying.

Ivan - I assume ur Jamey blew it - u need to address all the fake militaria on ur website that you bought for peanuts and now ask 1000's of dollars for - if u really knew anything about defamation proceedings u would know - as Oscar Wilde found out real fast - they r extremely expensive and risky propositions usually reserved for the rich and famous - if Jamey really wants to try to get some $ out of me because I point out he peddles lots of fake crap for top dollar on his site then good luck to you / him - but he will lose his shirt I promise.

I know little enough about TR militaria to make any judgement, however, the Crimea medal is a named up fake as any Brit medal collector worth his salt will tell you. Really, only a complete fool would be taken in by it and if it was being punted in the UK the OMRS and leading experts from the auction houses would be all over it.

Ivan, the emails are not mine, but what is a non mate doing reading blewits emails.
Nolan, you are so right with that Crimea medal, every single serious medal collector thinks its junk, yet he leaves it up hoping a beginner collector will buy it.
How can anyone take this blewit seriously.

So I will pursue this and let the forum know. Obviously he has local clients who visit his shop and just don't know they are getting fleeced. I may look at local media options as he is clearly running a fraud, that ss honor dagger is laughable. Imagine some poor collector buying that for $44k!!!

So you lodge a complaint, he does nothing and it goes to court. You say it's fake, in the case of the SS Honor Dagger. He says it's real. The judge doesn't know sh1t from shinola about nazi daggers and just throws up his hands. What are you going to do - subpoena Wittmann or Johnson? The best thing that can be done, short of picketing his store, is get the word out as the OP has done.

All these posts from brand new collectors - who are all probably Jamey - he demands the right to prey on local newbie collectors - or non internet savvy retirees - who buy his junk at top prices - we are assured that a money back guarantee is offered but like detlev niemann - who simply retired and vanished - who is going to be around to refund the $44k on that dodgy honor dagger?

Re defamation proceedings, the reality of such proceedings is that they are very expensive and risky proceedings - and for this reason quite rare. As Oscar Wilde found out - they can blow up in ur face. Experts would not need to attend in person, signed and notarized statements would suffice. Reference books could be referred to in court and photos of known originals tendered. Figure 2 days in court minimum and 12 months total to sort it all out - $50-60k in legal bills and who knows what the result would be - all to defend Jamey's right to sell his fake ss spoons to some kid who saved 6 months to buy them...
