I recently purchased this from a trusted antiques dealer here in Germany, but after some research do not think all the parts match the blade maker. Need some additional opinions before I decide to return or keep. Most comments I have read on this blade design with etched battleship are unconvincing one way or another on authenticity. Please do not just say good or bad, need to know why.

Hi Nexcis,
And who is the "trusted dealer" who sold you this "beauty"? The blade is postwar. On late, acid etched Alcoso TM, inscription Alcoso solingen and scales symbol should be next to each other, not over. Also on this TM letter "C" (ACS) was replaced by the letter "W" (AWS) after the owner of the factory (Alexander Coppel) was arrested because of his jewish origin. Also note the difference in the patina of individual elements. In this manufacturer are very characteristic details of the hilt, so will be needed more exact pictures.
In the best case, parts dagger.

Thanks much
Thanks much guys. Still learning the dagger ins and outs. Here is a shot of the hilt that got me to thinking it was possibly pieced together or not all Alcoso original. The antique dealer is trusted in that he admits he doesn't know all and will take this back if I am not satisfied. Great point about the name/symbol as I was not aware of that.
