    Later War LW gravity knife

This is for sale locally at 175 USD (they probably would sell for 125-150). The blade is RBN 0/0561/0020 marked but broken. I was wondering if it is worth it to pick it up and wait for a replacement blade to show up on ebay etc.

At least I have never seen a replacement blade, so I think that is not very likely to happen. Might be a gravity knife sold in parts due to European laws...
    Best regards,
    Mats

Hi, they do turn up on Ebay etc. but very rarely. The knife is part of several items that were brought back by a US WWII vet.

I have never heard of a G. GRÄFRATH (certainly not a manufacturer of complete FKm, and it sounds like Dr. Hfuhruhurr, a Steve Martin character...). The spike seems ok though... Congrats if you find a proper blade

you should easily find one with a broken spring but a good blade
the blades are easy to swap and nickle bolsters dress up well

Correct, a broken spring is commonly found, but I would rather go for a good on, instead of the sum of two defect ones...

I have other very nice ones that are intact. I just was wondering about the value of it if it was repaired with a correct original blade and if it is worth 150 USD. Thanks.

Don't know this maker. I would put the $ toward a better example, rather than try to "piece one together". Just my 2 cents.

The # is a weyersberg later model, carbon steel rather than stainless (rostfrei). If you restore it, I would try to find a weyersberg blade rather than the one on EBAY.
