Beautiful photos as usual JR. Has anyone ever tested that stuff to confirm it really is nicotine?

I still can't figure out why there is so much controverse for cleaning a dagger with solid nickle silver fittings and without factory applied burnished details.

I agree that you completely can ruin an Army dagger or 2nd model Luftwaffe by cleaning it but not with an early SA or SS dagger. At least as long as you not buff away the crossgraining on the blade. In fact if you clean the early SA, you bring it back into the condition where it was as the SA man had it on his belt in the 30's.

I guess it is more a question of taste. I have an uncleaned SA but also a few cleaned ones. I never thinking of cleaning my Armies or Luftwaffes.

                    Wim,

When you find an uncleaned dagger like this one shown by JR you know its most likely never been messed with during its lifetime, that is what i & most other guys like about these dirty daggers, if someone had to clean it up well........

                    Each to his own

                    Regards Mac 66.

JR! I guess that patina is on a 120/34 dagger???

                      Fine example I love it

upon close reviews of pics posted by JR,,,and no taste test ... i conclude that this dagger is covered in CHESTERFIELD cigarette residue ... EC
