    Comments and info needed on Etched Bayonet

    Here is an etched bayonet I have that I would like to know more about. What do you know about this etch type? Rarity and value? THANKS guys! Kevin.

          This etch pattern can be found on page 190 of Wayne Techet's book, German Etched Dress Bayonets.

          It is an etch pattern that is found on Gustav Spitzer marked bayonets and is listed as 'Scarce' by Wayne.

          The only marking on the blade you show is 'Solingen' but this is ok since we think that some makers left off their name so that they could sell their edged weapons to uniform distributors and shops.

          I think the etch is fine and you have a nice conditioned hard to find etch there.

            A sexy etch with a lot going on, I like it. Looks like a nice, unmarked Spitzer as John says.
