Unknown Sabel - need help

A friend of mine (not an collector) bought this sabel together with a bunch of other stuff.
I can purchase it but I want to check it out first.

Can somebody tell me if this is an orginal or an reproduction?
And where is it for?

Original Dove head pattern . Looks like it has some hand enhanced detail work on the hilt . Nice sword IMO .

There I don't collect swords, I have no idea what would be an comfortable price to pay for this piece. Can someone give me a clue? There my friend isn't planning to keep it, I might purchase it.

I see one offered on the net, for around 600USD - although in not the same (good) shape. Is this price range realistic?

£250-£350 would be a good price anymore than that then you can shop around for a better sword IMO.
