Rohm S/A dagger

Very nice, untouched, Full Rohm!!! Especially coming from Epack

Maybe I am wrong , but it appears that the etch has been applied over all the imperfections on the blade.

I do not think there is anyway to confirm originality on these online anymore.That being said it looks good.

Hi Larry,

My concern is from the lack of an SA-Gruppe code stamping to the reverse lower crossguard. SA M-33s of this earliest vintage normally had the Gruppe mark as a distribution feature and this one does not. Could the lower crossguard have been replaced at some point? Just a thought...

I like this dagger, and feel that it is a proper / period Full Rohm SA. The SA's that found sans the Gau stamp are just fine. It is a general consensus that when found in this manor, that they were honorary pieces that were given out and didn't go through the distribution centers to be stamped. I've owned several non-Gau marked SA daggers and as I recall, all were Partial Rohms, or Ground Rohms.

To me, it looks to be a correct example of the etched inscription for an original Rohm dedication as seen on daggers by E Pack.

This dagger shows all the texbook features of a E-PACK Room dedication. Nice original example.

That's right, Larry -- the one you're showing now bears the mark of SA-Gruppe Westfalen.

JR -- In my experience, all of the Röhm daggers - those with his Full Inscription, Partial Inscription (Röhm's name removed) and those with the entire Inscription removed -- did have the SA Group stamp on the reverse lower crossguard, just as all those issued without the Röhm Inscription...which was the vast majority of the initial-order SA and NSKK daggers.

I purchased from the (German) Vet's daughter, an Eickhorn Rohm dagger and it was without Gau mark. Her father was a political leader at the time of presentation. My two cents.
