    German Navy divers knife

I got offered this Navy knife today. I am not sure about it, I never had one in my hand before. So any help would be appreciated. Guy is asking $1800 for it.
    Thank you
    Regards RD

No maker's mark or stamping a other than the numerical ones? Tough to place vintage without them.

Not an expert on these at all but I know they were used before & after the war so it might be tough to date this one. Unless you can tell it's a wartime piece, I wouldn't say it would be worth $1800. I believe fellow WAF member DONS is very fluent in tauchermesser, I hope he sees this thread.

                    Rajko,

I've seen period examples selling for roughly what your seller is asking on this piece. Based on the lack of stampings, I'm inclined to think it will be tough to date this blade definitively.

Where You have the Naval stamp? the stamp on end is a Wehrmacht Abnahme stamp, Haenckels is the maker of blade, but the WaA dont correspond with the maker, maybe other assembled it?

I think that you have a modern copy there. Here are some pics of ones that I was selling a couple of years ago for $450 each.

The one with the rounded edges is a French model.

The one on the right looks exactly like the one that I got offered.
So this one is copy then?
