GERMAN?? MODIFIED / REISSUED FRENCH Mle. 1892 BAYONET RIG...

Hello forum. This odd-ball surfaced via an estate seller friend...It's an odd item, inasmuch as the bayonet itself hasn't been modified from its original configuration w/ the exception of having been given a blued finish (I believe this series of French bayonet was always finished "bright" from the factory). What's interesting however, is the modified German sword hanger which now serves as a bayonet "frog" of sorts. The original makers marks to a Bavarian firm are still present on the rear of the tear-drop hanger, as is the date 1935. Would it be safe to assume that this bayonet may have been blued and given this modified hanger as a re-issued arm during the occupation (along w/ the accompanying French rifles?). The bayonet has no "Waffenamt" or other such markings, and the blade is still heavily covered in old grease. A few pix below, and thanks in advance for any theories anyone would care to offer. Thank you.
