    Luftwaffe dagger original?

    Hello!
What do you think of this Luftwaffe dagger?
    Thanks

    Hi Mister Aurel,

Welcome among us! The parts comprising this piece appear to be original, but I wince in pain when I see a dagger taken apart such as this one was! Personally, I would never touch any dagger in my collection like this; the danger of stripping a tang thread, misfitting the grip to the crossguard, or causing some other problem is far too high to warrant any such thing...IMO, of course!

To be fair though, if there was any question about it's originality there would be some who would say " I'd like to see the tang before I give an opinion"!

Looks fine. Is it maker marked?

        Regards, Wim

No maker marker; The traces of moldings under the crossguard and on the pommel are very suspicious for me; i have never seen that on a Luftwaffe dagger.

those casting lines sure look pronounced.....

maybe just really late war and bad quality?
