    Last of the Max daggers...

Here is the last of the trio of Heer daggers I picked up while at the Max. This one is ounce again of initial production, brass based fittings AND scabbard. Of the three is is considered the least rare but it is a maker that has eluded me many times! I had one that was being purchased from Mr. Denny Roach and a financial snafu stopped that transaction..another recently on an auction sight that was ending at the same moment that my "smart" phone lost signal!! AARRGG! So it goes without saying that there was a certain sweet "closure" when I finally aquired this one.. Kevin.

            Kevin,

Is that a plated blade or do I see signs of cross graining?

            You had a great show.

John, It is a polished blade, good bit of the cross grain remains but it has been cleaned some over the years by someone. Fittings are quite dark though so it was only the blade that was cleaned a bit. Kevin.

                Nice work on that pommel.

                Regards, Wim
