I hope that I have placed this in the right forum as I am totally in the dark as to what it is , what country it's from the time frame and most importantly, the value.
I originally posted this in the British Commonwealth forum but was told it was German.
Other than being some type of sword I really have no idea. I thought it was British only because of the markings on the blade but even those markings confuse me. A member pointed out that one very similar is in Angolia's Sword of Germany book on p. 289
I am totally out of my comfort zone but I never leave any stone unturned in this hobby.
Is there any value to these and what would be a fair market value for one in this condition without its scabbard. Hope to also nail down what the markings on the cross guard represent.
