    It still amazes me when nice daggers come in fresh from the woodwork. This Spitzer was a pleasant surprise.

        Thanks guys! At first (when it was handed to me) I thought the scabbard was painted but it's anodized with most of the lacquer present.

          Hi Jim,

          Indeed a lovely piece, from among the original sidearm orders placed by SA-Gruppe Nordsee in late 1933! Someone has lovingly cared for this piece throughout its lifetime -- from the original SA recipient to the person you bought it from. Congrats!
