Looks good so far . Something to check: Teno EM hewer #7327 is in the number range that should have the serial number etched on the blade but stamped on the scabbard throat.

question about the stamped/etched numbers were these numbers an individuals issue number or something else? I read in another thread that 10xxx was the highest number seen? was this dagger the 7327th issued?

The numbers relate to the daggers and not to the individuals receiving them. The EM hewers and the officers dagger run in the same series, i.e., not seperate series. The lowest EM # I have recorded is 0067, the highest 10377. The lowest officer # 0346, the highest #8269.
The earliest pieces have the number stamped on the blade. I have recorded Hewers with stamped blades in the range #0067 through #1417, and officers in the range #0346 through #2117 (but with one stamped when etching was the norm, #3140.
These observations are based on a survey of 119 hewers and daggers, so a reasonable statistically significant sample in my opinion.

So, yes you are correct - #7237 would be the 7237th hewer/dagger in the series.
