Hi
I recently sought advice on WAF on importing a dagger to the UK from Lakeside Traders in Canada and this is what I was after,a superb lazy man grind Rohm SA Ehrendolch made by Haenel .I find these daggers fascinating this my second such example and something I have wanted since I first started to collect German militaria.Always loved swords and daggers when I was a kid(still am) I used to climb on chairs to get at my mother’s Baker bayonet so the mear challenge of the Atlantic ocean wasn’t going to stop me from getting my hands on this beautiful dagger.I followed the advice on my thread ' Importing a dagger from the US', yes I know now it’s actually Canada but I am sure it’s the same for both countries. The details were simple and useful to know if you are thinking of buying from Lakeside traders or any non Euro dealers. This advice saved me money and Paul Hogle at Lakeside was extremely helpful and knew the process he really has made a dream come true and I have to say it is worth every penny to me .I won't hesitate on ordering from across the Atlantic now I know the process, confident that it will get here safe.It was dispatched really quickly and was well packaged it got to the UK faster than I imagined but of course it slowed down a bit when it hit the UK but only because it was a weekend and for some reason everything shuts down then,I don't know why plenty of jobs to be done and lots of people needing work.I was sent a letter telling me how much vat to pay (5%+£13.50 admin)nice & easy pay online and it was delivered the next day ,10 days in all.Paul also provided's some very useful advice for novices on his web site including video which has helped me a lot and I first found his site on here.I also owe thanks to all who gave me advice and encouragement on WAF,some wise men on here. There are some better pics on Lakeside Traders website and of course many more precious things at good prices even with the VAT this end ,link below,,,,enjoy the dagger.
