    german daggers sent to austraila

    hey
been a long time sense i posted in here years in fact i don't really collect any ww2 items anymore,
i still collect knifes and swords i was wondering if any collectors who live here in oz can or have had SS or SA daggers arrive with no problems? as far as i understand its not really possible to import daggers into Australia i live in TAS which seems to be ok with daggers at least you can buy locally ie FAIRBAIRN SYKES style ,not sure if that makes any difference anyway thanks

hi I have recently imported a army officers dagger so I am well aware of what is required. so here goes, first of all the process while being a pain in the ass was fairly simple. contact firearms registry and get your self a b709 form or print if of there website. fill out the form and send it of (I also included a pic of dagger) about a week later I got the permission to import back, then I watched my item with tracking to see if it got through customs once item had been with customs for more then a couple of hours I new they had seized it so instead of waiting for customs to send me a letter I rang them and they confirmed that dagger had been seized I then sent them the import approval and a week later I had my dagger. this import restrictions only aply to double edged daggers not single edged also you can import bayonets and swords no problem. daggers not illegal to own or export only to import. about two years ago I imported a sa dagger blade, blade only no problem.
stupid laws and a pain in the ass but saved money buying from overseas.
    any questions pm me.
    cheers brodie.

hey thanks for the good info, that's what i figured,i have seen all the parts on ebay so yea you could make your self a parts dagger but i would rather the "whole" original, yea i agree with that you do save quite a bit of money shopping overseas

        Simple steps:
        1. Apply for B709 (available from state police website) This takes 14 days to process, and is valid for 6 months
        2. Order dagger, international tracking always helps
        3. Wait for customs seizure notice OR post original B709b permit to National Claims along with the B144 form
        4. Await response from national claims about dagger release (they will call you)
        5. Smile and enjoy your dagger once it arrives

If you need help filling out the B709 form feel free to PM me I've been successful importing a dagger and applied for another permit without any problems

This can take up to 3 weeks for customs to process, so be patient. You will eventually receive a letter granting permission to import. Customs main concern are concealable weapons, not large daggers.
If you want to pre-empt any issues you can fax your seller a copy of the permit and enclose it in the packet.

I would love a us ww1 model knuckle knife but illegal in every state. so if your referring to a knuckle knife or variation of. yeh no go unfortunately. though I was at a gun and military show last year and they were selling copies but I know for sure there illegal.
              cheers.

just checked out the us m3 and I don't think you would have a problem. some more interesting info about importations i recently found out, your not ment to be able to import helmets with out the b709 form classed as body armour but saying that ive imported 2 no problem. I guess its up to the discretion of the customs officer who opens your package.

You really have to love all this freedom and democracy eh? Heck I thought England was bad enough but you guy's have even more of a nanny dictatorship state than we do.

Prices must be really crazy if it is cheaper to buy overseas and pay the taxes than buy at home.
