    N.P.E.A. Dagger

    Greeting to you all.

I found this excellent site while looking for information on a dagger I bought about 1967.

It would appear to be a NPEA dagger; there are no Nazi insignia and the blade is engraved in the usual way.

The crossguard is stamped with K and the number 22 on one face but it is also stamped on the reverse with K and the number 41. I have found no references to this type of marking being on both sides of the crossguard anywhere on this and other sites. can anyone shed a little light?

    Cheers,
    T.

I'm a bit of a technophobe, but I'll try to get some images up.

      Cheers,

Many thanks Francisque. They should be with you now.

I should stick to pen and ink and leave these damned computers alone.

                    Regards,
                    T.

It would appear, at least at first glance, to be a dagger marked for the school at Koslin. Since these daggers in many cases were school property, I suppose it is possible that the dagger was reissued to another student at the same school. I think it has a nice, salty look to it, many thanks for posting it.

                              Thanks Billy.

Its been up in my loft for almost 30 years; the wife doesn't approve.

I would like to know if it's genuine and what an approximate value might be. It should be on display and I would like to sell it to someone who appreciates it for what it is and for the history it represents.

That said, if it's a fake it can go back in the loft forever.

                              Cheers,
                              T.
