    Parade bayonet question!

    Hi all,
Is the maker mark on a parade bayonet always on the reverse of the blade or can it be on the obverse as well?............or doesn't it make one iota of difference?

    Many thanks

Generally on the reverse, WKC marked on the obverse exclusively I think and I've got Holler, Horster, Klaas and Pack marked on the obverse as well. Probably a couple of others too. Distributors would also mark the obverse sometimes.

        Hi Dave,

I have a number of fireman bayonets that have the makers marks on the obverse. but I do remember a few. Horster, Holler, WKC and Johann Leupold come to mind. I have a number of others but since I don't have them in front of me, I will have to check. As Jim said, some distributors favored the obverse but I don't think there was any hard fast rule. I think it makes for an interesting difference.
