Last weekend at the flea-market bought this WW2 - M84/98 model 3 Combat Bayonet with matching scabbard and frog. Its all nicely marked up - year date on the spine 38 -Waffenamt WaA 253 stamps - maker Jos. Corts Sn on both blade and scabbard, same identity number. everything matches, frog has mm and year date unfortunately can't make out the stamp. Ran a check on German bayonets, however I've one question left outstanding - the maker Josua Corts & Sohn, Remscheid. I hadn't heard of the maker before, although they are still exist today and are thriving as a producer of surgical instruments. Looked through various military forums hoping to glean further info. there's not much about J. Corts. One collector did mention that J.Cort is amongst the fifth rarest bayonet producers. I couldn't say if that's right or not. What do members think ? Any information welcome. Cheers
