    SS dagger price.

Friends, how much could be this dagger in such condition ?
There are a small chips on the grip, and I think this Tmark is rare for this maker. Opinions are needed.

Ron, what could be the approximate cost?

            Hi Ron,

I'm wondering how you've identified this piece to be a reissued factory-ground Röhm? We haven't seen the blade's reverse beyond the ricasso, and there we see the double maker's marks of a transitional dagger (circa 1936). Since the Röhm Honor Dagger with his inscription dates from 1934, and SS daggers from that early period carry the SS District mark die-stamped to the lower reverse crossguard -- and that mark does not appear to be on this piece -- it looks like an older piece to me. Could you share what facts on this piece give you to believe this to be a reissued factory-ground Röhm?

            With respect and many thanks,

            Br. James

Thanks Jonny . The dagger was discussed on several forms including WA and GD.
The question was only about price.

I think that's a very firm price considering the chips in the grip - and the blade appears to have scratches (or is that just the photos..?)

Yes, there are two chips on the grip - and some micro scratches on the blade (visible from a certain angle.).
But the blade is in original condition.

Do you see any evidence of a grind job?
Years ago, i owned the same example, but without a grind job.
So,i would call it "left over stock",from the Röhm period,w/o a dedication.

Could the micro scratches have been caused by some sort of cleaning?
how is the fit of the scabbard with the cross guard?

No it doesn't look as cleaning.

To me 1936 was interesting period for Eickhorn . In this year, maker used parts from stock of the Rohm dagger`s and blades with the early large mark. I think these were limited editions, and these daggers are rare now.

As Eickhorn reworked existing completed daggers, you won't see grind marks on the reverse. The trained eye can detect the evidence of inscription removal on these pieces. They are not parts daggers as of the pre-war years, but after that???

                              You might be right Ron!

But,i've checked the measurements(thickness of the blade on different spots),versus an unground dagger and i didn't seen any differences.
I'll check my database,if i still own the pics.

                              Regards
