Interesting SA

Yesterday I bought a great grouping of stuff and in it was an early SA Dagger by Gebr. Bohme Nachfl. Brotterode. On the handle is written Hung on 5th Aug '45. Any one know who was hung on August 5 1945?

It was more than likely added postwar to enhance value.

I doubt that is the case with this one. The vet kept it locked away and the family did not know about it till after he died.

If any one is good with photo shop PM me and I will email you high resolution photos of the scabbard. Maybe you can make the writing more legible.

Fascinating! Can barely make out ....officer....the...of....45....be arrested....the C of P. (Chief of Police??). Perhaps the text might appear better under ultraviolet light.
