    Rare german bayonet "Grey Ghost"

What price should this bayonet have?

    Model 44SGX - nr. 91c7
Have been told it is a rare bayonet from 1944, also called "Grey Ghost" by collectors, it is produced by E.u.F. Horster and it should have a phosphate layer....
I do not have the holster for it....

    What is it worth?

Dont know how to post pictures? So you can se it on this link, it is a danish site like ebay

With (if the images are accurate) almost all of the original gray phosphate finish missing, and no scabbard it's hard to say as the current value seems to be in mostly just the letter code. FP

The grey ghost was declared by BCN members as 44asw in 2 letter ranges, Yours is normal sgx riveted production, as Frogprince already declared, no extra visible from the finish and no scabbard.

        Hello,

a normal sgx production is not a "grey ghost"

A "grey Ghost" is a late asw44 with phosphate finish

Your comment makes me smile because Frogprince and I did that article!!!! I was so happy at a gun show last year in allentown...a dealer began to educate me on the grey ghost....i was so happy to hear this since i knew his information and knowledge came from the members of the BCN.
