    Short Sword ID Help

    Hey Guys:

Today I picked up this short sword from the grandson of a WWII Vet who said it came home from the war. At first I thought it was middle eastern but then I saw the maker's mark... looks like a German name maybe?

Any help would be most appreciated!

Allied countries including the Americans pillaged museums in Germany during the war, and after, and abscounded with many fine items still hididng in foot lockers and attics to this day waiting to be discovered. I once had a chance to purchase a 16th century crossbow brought home the same way. One vet evn took home the crown jewels of romania, till he tried to sell them, and was internationally sued by romania to get them back.

          Thx

Great link, thanks! I showed it to an antique dealer pal on the way home and he said he thought it was theatrical but I disagreed - guess he knows his stuff and I owe him a tip of the hat.

          Thanks again,
