Scabbard leather is not a Klaas product IMO.

            Hi Ron!

Ok, you think dagger and scabbard is from the "right" time era,
but the scabbard is not from Robt Klaas?

It can be right, scabbard fittings are a little more "silverish" than the
            crossguard and pommel

My hope is that it is a early scabbard and dagger model from Robt Klaas...

Not an early one as the hilt fittings are definately mid-war style.

Stamped mark is correct on the Klass 1st model. Scabbard leather does not match handle either recovered or the scabbard was married to the dagger

Ron - Nice dagger mine is a mid period but has the triple grip wire like Ron’s

The fittings of the scabbard and dagger have the same tone and appearance. my guess is that the scabbard is original to the dagger but has been re-covered incorrectly. MM is OK but not a good strike. Whether you can be happy with it rather depends on how much you paid for it.

If you don`t have much invested then it may be worth getting a proper job done to restore the scabbard with the correct type of leather because apart from that it looks quite nice.

The hilt fittings are NOT early and so, as the scabbard fittings are early, this is a mixed piece and the thick bottom of the crossguard makes it a mid-production piece only. JMO
