            Hi Berra,

Well, for openers, this looks like an NSKK piece to me; the scabbard appears to be painted black. Then the upper and lower crossguards don't look like they're fitting too well...though this may be in the photo. The individual parts look ok to me. Hope these thoughts are helpful to you.

              Hi James

Thanks for the fast reply, I think the reson it look black are the lighting the photos where taken in, taka a look at pic nr 2 and I think you see the correct colour.

You could be right regarding the crossugards but to me they dont seem to be extremely bad fitting... I will see if I can get som straight on daylight pictures.

              Thanks

              /B

                Hi Berra,

Thanks for your responses. The scabbard still looks black to me, though perhaps it's the light that's causing that effect. So too with the fit of the crossguards; there appears to be more space between the grip and the metal on one end of both crossguards. But that too may have to do with the lighting.

Yes you could be right I have to wait and see if I get this one. The dagger looks to have been taken apart. I see some marks on the nut, is it possible that when a dagger like this has been apart that the wood grip could be tilted so instead of leaving two even gaps between wood and crossguard they leave a big one on opposite sides? (hard to explain in text)

I have not taken a SA dagger appart so I dont know how snug the fit is between wood, crossguard and the blade tang.

                  /B

I picked up the lot with the SA dagger and its a real beautiful!

Blade is abit greyish there seems to be some gun oil aplied to the blade I think it will clean up very well.

                          Thanks
