I'm posting these for a friend. I would like your comments on this Government Official dagger by Hoerster. Pictures are not the best but this is what I have right now.

Hi Stephane,

It's not possible to form an opinion on this piece without better photos of all parts of the dagger, scabbard and hanger -- and particularly the crossguard eagle and the pommel head. The dagger appears to be highly polished, yet the hanger has had a hard life... Nothing more that I can add...

For sure some more pictures IMO. With on just the crossguard (topside and underneath), there are dark spots which in the images look like pitting. And also on the underside, what looks like both brass (yellow) and silver reflections along the scalloped edge. Maybe it's just the imaging or the lighting - who knows?? FP

Hoerster definitely made these daggers, the unique features of this maker are noticeable on the scabbards. You may want to take more pictures of the scabbard.

I have received new pictures. When I look at the cross-guard, I'm not sure of the originality of this dagger.
