    help on officer dagger portepee

This portepee is mounted on a Heer officer dagger. It seems to have been on the dagger for a long time.
The strap and the acorn are of the correct silver color and cord. But what about the gold/champagne chevron ?
Is this portepee for another dagger ?

    Thanks in advance.

Nice knot. I've never seen that type of gold on a Heer portepee but I'll admit it looks very interesting. I can't say what type of piece the silver and gold combination would go with. What color is the "cat's anus"?

The color of the "cat's anus" (very funny ) is silver.

I think this is just a variation of an early dagger portepee. I have one (which, by the way I am very proud of) on a vet purchased double engraved Army dagger.

I checked my engravd Army and I stand corrected...the stem of the portepee is plain, but the cord has flecking in it that is the same champagne color. I stand by my original belief that this is just a minor variation on the standard 43cm portepee usually encountered on Army daggers.
