    General Staff (?) Dagger .

    Hello All,
I'm trying to identify this German dagger, and so far have had little success.
I'm not sure whether this one's real or a fantasy post war item.
I've attached a few scans including maker mark plus one of the etched blade.
(I have further scans if necessary)

Any help to either confirm or deny it's originality would be appreciated.

    Regards

    Gary J . - England

        Hi Gary,

This is a total reproduction/fantasy piece. It is made to closely resemble the dagger presented to Hermann Goring by the industrial leaders of the city of Solingen. The Goring presentation dagger had gold colored fitings and a Damascus blade and is feateured prominently in Johnson's Volume I.

Probably not the answer you were hoping for, but a typical example of some of the stuff that was churned out in the mid-60's.

          Thanks

          Skip,
Many thanks for your time in identifying this dagger.
Thankfully I do not own it, so there's no personal loss to myself.

          Regards

          Gary Jucha
