Chained SS Dagger!

I'm waiting on better pictures - but thought I would get some thoughts going, from this far I cannot see any red flags as of yet, other than perhaps the shine of the handle. The chain links perhaps are a little "fat" as well. Many questions would love some thoughts!

It might be a repaint not a scratch on it. Look like the real deal from here.

That was my 1st thought, perhaps a repaint and a scabbard that had been shellacked for a shine. Not uncommon from uneducated collectors to make a dagger "look better"

Looks like the fittings have been polished at some point. Can't tell about the paint from the photos.
