Need some help please-HJ Knife.

Hi guys,

I'm going to a small local auction but have little idea about some of the items up for bidding- which makes it very hard to price.

From what I can tell the auctioneer has no idea how to price the items either and for the most part many of the items I know are described wrong.

This the only photo I have of the knife- and they've (auctioneer) described it at as a repro- but if it's not I could get a good buy!


Any idea if its real or not- and what should I looking for with the real deal- Oh and any idea of price?

The scabbard is not a period item and that is really all that can be offered with certainty from this pic.

It is most likely the knife is a reproduction, but photos of it would be needed to confirm.

Scabbard gives it away in a half second, could be a good original knife inside it but I doubt that, Lakeside Trader has a good basic tutorial as has already been pointed out.
