Interesting German modified Lebel bayonet with cover

I got this with few other items from a son of the vet. I knew that German's used other countries rifles but I never saw this custom leather cover. It is factory made by Karl Bocker and under has a weirman eagle stamp which would be right for the 1935 year. It fits great, so I was wondering did anybody else saw this before, or anything similar. Or I can be totaly wrong and this cover is for something totaly different.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you

    regards RD

          bayonet

I collected bayonets for many years and about twenty years ago, I encountered a French Model 1892 bayonet in one of these leather carriers. It was marked with a waffenamt stamp, maker code and was dated 1941. At the time, I did some research on it and I seem to remember that it was for a grounding stake for some type of electrical or radio equipment. It was not specifically made for a bayonet. If you reposted it on the equipment forum someone may be able to give you all the information that you need.
