        Thank you Dr. DOLCH

I want to sell it, but I wouldnt even no what price to put on it. Also, I ave read many of your posts and your knowledge on Daggers is unquestionable. What would be a nice first SS Dagger to own that wouldnt cost me the price of a car? I would like to buy one but I dont need a super fancy one , just a nice good SS Dagger? Can you help?

I would go for an early maker marked SS dagger with no issues i.e,re-painted,buffed,sharpened,ect.You should be able to find one for$1000.00-$2000.00 it may take sometime but whats the hurry? .Buy one off the e-stand.As for the price of the mini I can't say I don't know anything about them. What are the dimentions of your mini SS dagger?

I've never seen a mini in an SS that I ever consider to be period. Compare some of the very detailed Army and Luft pieces to see how they are beautiful quality made pieces; and then look at any of the SS ones which are always very crude and amateur in nature.

This looks more like a child's toy and not something the TR would produce...

                IMO it's post war.

                  Im not so sure

There are two things that throw me off about this dagger, well three things.

1.) The details. The chain is very detailed with the SS bolts and Skull all are very detailed and the chain is contructed very well. None of this is aluminum or tin.

2.) The weight of the dagger is heavy for its size. When I picked it up it surprised me.

3.) There are no maker mark stamps on the blade or any where else, so if it was a produced "toy" or some kind of post war manufactured piece, with everything else the dagger has going for it, a replicated makers mark or stamp on the blade would certainly be easy and would increase the validity or the appearance of validity, thereby selling more of these. I have never seen one before and I think Dr. DOLCH could be right on this one.

I'd have to disagree and say the chain looks quite sloppy and the runes and skull are far from even the correct shape... I would imagine, as the other (army, luft, etc.) mini's are supposed to look exactly like their larger brother.

Also why is no makers mark incorrect? Many early chained SS' had no makers mark - a motto in the blade something I would consider that should be there...

It's just too far off in my opinion to be legitimately made in the TR... it should look just like its bigger brother - my thoughts anyways....

Again, I've never seen one before or seen one referenced so this is all new conversation starter.

The mini-ss that is being asked about in post#1 was sold at auction on May 20, 2012?

                      Lot 7362

                      GERMAN WWII SS MINIATURE DAGGER

WWII Germany SS mini dagger. Entire piece measures 5 inches, blade measures approximately 2.5 inches. Chain appears to be broken, tip of scabbard is deformed. Overall fair to good condition. EST $100 - $200

                      Sold for: $100.00
                      AND;

                      Another example described as:
D563 Mini SS Dagger by SS 807/36 RZM. This miniature SS dagger is 8 inches long and has a metal grip fittings. This piece is somewhat crudely made but is the only accepted original SS Miniature Dagger. These examples came with no scabbard.

                        Thanks

                        Josh,
Yah, already knew it was SOLD at auction on the 20th of May. That auction house guarantee's its authenticity, although, that doesnt mean anything at all and how did they make this affirmation when I, we, cannot find any reference to this mini dagger at all?

                        The saga continues.
