A few scans of my dagger

I am by no means a computer kind of guy. This is some scans I did of my SS dagger. I wanted to see how it would turn out. I have borrowed a digtal camera and will try to take some pictures soon and see what works best.

I know that the scans are not that good, but what do you think of the dagger?

And any tips as to how to take a good picture with a digital camera and do a better job scanning on a dagger would be appreciated.

Overall, I like this dagger. Wasn't the motto redarkened?

Looks like a nice example of an early Eickhorn dagger...congratulations! It may be the scans, but the blade looks like it may have been given the old steel wool treatment at some point - not all that unusual when they remain in the hands of well-intentuioned, but ill-informed vets!

Larry can probably help out with a few photo tips, as he has been getting incredible results with his new digital camera. I know he shoots mostly outdoors, using natural light, and has a stand of sorts made up to support the camera.

Thanks Skip and bnz. Yes, I darkened the motto with the photo editor. It was to shiney from the scanner, but looks good and is untouched in real life. You guys are good. I will try and post some snap shots with a camera and you can see the whole thing.

I am hooked now on daggers. I hope to have more up soon.
