Clear your PM box...as offers will be coming in to take this 'sled' off your hands.

You got the accepted Model railroad dagger by Klaas.

The dagger has the Klaas TM with a black grip, but it also seems to have a few anomalies. The first is a sanded or ground area at the top of the grip. With a second one being what looks like some traces of aged white paint at the bottom. FP

I believe what you are seeing is the underlying material color where there is some slight loss to the black, looks like a cream or yellow color. What about the fittings, are they correct? I just thought the detail would be a little better but i understand every maker had their variances.

The black is through and through, and when sanded has the dull appearance I pointed out at the top. And for myself, I'm also not particularly fond of the noticeable gap between the grip and pommel cap just above the arrow which seems greater on the left side than on the right. Or the ground away (?) bottom of the lower band that lets you see the blade(?) in the gap between it and the crossguard. It doesn't look like it's recent, and I'm not trying to unnecessarily criticize the dagger - but that is what I'm seeing in the images. FP

You are 100% correct, there is a gap there as i have not been able to tighten it up anymore, the grip fits snug to both fittings when moved but i can not seem to tighten the pommel up anymore and i do not want to ruin anything. any ideas on how to remedy it?

Your blade washer may have pulled through the shoulder of the steel. Try taking it apart and reversing the leather. If that doesn't work you will need a new leather washer

I am happy to see the white paint on it and all is what you expect to see to include the poor fit. 100% original! No anomalies on this one!

I'm in agreement, with the 'anomalies' referring to a problem with it being a "Railway" dagger. FP

Thanks for the input and advice on the Dagger but i think i will leave it alone and send it to estand an blow it out and let someone else have at it!
