Eickhorn Boot Knifw WW1 or WW2??

I have this Eickhorn boot knife with checkered black wood grips ,black painted metal handle and the Eickhorn back to back squirrels. The Eickhorn mark I thought was an early mark so I was thinking WW1 but not sure. Any help would be great. Thanks DR

Knife is from WW-I. Or it can be from 1920-30-th after war years. Also more then possible that scabbard is from WW-II period. This metal clip is not WW-I period.

It´s an private purchased Armeedolch with an early Eickhorn trademark, (patented on 19th of June 1906, so far as I know), together with a sheath of an WWII "Infanteriemesser 42".

The sheath was throwing me off because I also thought it was WW2. So someone put a WW1 knife into a WW2 scabbard I guess.

The edge looks sharpened ! ...

It has been lightly sharpened at some point in time but not at all uncommon on a military fighting knife this old. I did not sharpen it. I was more interested in the date of the knife as to the age of the scabbard.
